Ian Broughton Summer Tennis Tournament 2023

IAN BROUGHTON TENNIS TOURNAMENT

On Sunday 25th June the second annual Ian Broughton Tournament was held, with twenty-four players taking part.

Many thanks to Arthur for his superb organisarion of the day's events which went  without a hitch.

Also, thanks to the kitchen and bar staff for their hard work, ensuring that the event ended successfully.

Special thanks to Gordon and Ann (current President and wife) for their support and to Gill Broughton for supporting and presenting the trophies.

Our youngest entrant was Gus Seed who kindly filled in to make up the competitor group and who played well with all his partners.   His budding skills on court did not quite match his dad ,Adam, who finished as runner-up.   This was a good example of the basis of the tournament -the taking part - which was summed up eloquently in our worthy winner, Michelle Watts's acceptance speech.   Hearty congratulations and thanks to Michelle.

Finally, thanks to all those who turned up to support the event and we look forward to a repeat next year.
